Thanksgiving 2013: Celebrating or shopping?
Thanksgiving is one of the most important events in American culture. Thanksgiving is a celebration to thank our families and lives without considering our cultural background, religious practice or where we come from.
Thanksgiving is a tradition adopted by most of us who came from different countries. It is a humble act, surrounding the most important event of the year.
It was sad that this year the consumerist culture changed this very significant event by eliminating Thanksgiving dinner for retail workers in exchange for sales and discounts.
Not only workers went to their jobs, some even without extra compensation, but lots of people preferred to go shopping rather than spending Thanksgiving precious time with their families and friends.
As I see events like Thanksgiving, in 2012 families celebrate the festivity with a dinner, in 2013 many celebrated with a lunch and in 2014 they will celebrate at breakfast and in 2015 we may have a black Thursday.
Does this mean that we are not grateful anymore?

i read your blog and i found it very interesting nice posting.
